The Story of an Hour in my opinion was a strange story, with some similarities to Shakespears romeo and Juliet. The story is about a woman, Ms. Mallard, whos husband supposedly dies in a trainwreck. She is upset but only for a short period. Then she realizes that she is "free" from him. She becomes excited at the thought of being free. But when, in amazement, her husband opened the front door, unharmed( infact in the story it states he was far from the scene of the accident), Ms. Mallard collapsed of heart disease. The author, Kate Chopin, did a good job sending this story in directions unexpectedly. It would have been much more enjoyable if it was longer.
